My sister rocks my socks off for a great number of reasons, her obsession with Vampires, her love of shopping, her talent as a shopping buddy, and a myriad of other reasons. Let's just add to the list that she can catch a fish with her bare hands!

A Little Slice of Heaven

Me and the 2nd love of my life, Lincoln!

Well, those of you who know me at all know that I am totally obsessed with my adorable nephews and that I just can't get enough of them when they come to visit! My sister Annie and her family came to visit this week and we had so much fun with them....from multiple trips to the rec center to swim, to fishing at a trout farm, to the dinosaur museum, and finally to Family day at the Air National Guard Base, we made lots of memories and had tons of fun!!

Me and Annie sportin' our HUGE catches!!

How does one describe a totally amazing morning of fishing at a trout farm? I haven't been fishing since I was a lot younger and I can't even remember ever fishing at a trout farm. The boys had fun (Lincoln was scared because there were so many fish almost literally jumping out of the water) but the adults had a great time. Annie even caught a fish bare-handed!! (Bear Grylls style, if you will). Maybe I'll post that video later. It's pretty funny.

Me and Annie at the pool

So for those of you who haven't been to the pirate ship at the bountiful recreation center, YOU MUST GO! We had so much fun that we went back again before the boys had to leave. It's awesome--the water is like two feet deep (at its deepest) so you don't have to worry about the kids drowning. The kids just run around and go down the slides or shoot the fun water guns or run under the water fall thingy's and the mom's/dad's just lounge in the cool water and get a great tan! Really, I want to go back....even if I don't have any kids to go with me....I'm just going to pretend I have a reason to go to the kiddy pool!!

Family Day at the Utah Air National Guard Base!

So Saturday was family day at the base. Mac and I were excited but weren't quite sure what to expect since neither of us had ever been to one. We got there and went to the opening ceremony and had the privilege of witnessing two men receiving the award of the Bronze Star. It was a really emotional morning for the both of us as we listened to the courageous, dangerous, and brave actions of these amazing men who represent our country and fight for our freedoms and the freedom and protection of others. They are such powerful examples of pure sacrifice as they were away from their families and risking their lives. I felt so proud to be able to say that my husband is one of those brave men who puts aside his own wants and desires and serves in the military. I am so proud of you honey and you are an amazing man!

So, after the awards we listened to some great music by a band called Joshua Creek. They had a couple of songs about the USA and a POW that brought tears to my eyes (and macs...don't tell him I told you!). They really were powerful songs and I am getting on itunes to buy the songs. After that the boys and my mom came and we toured the planes and helicopters and got some sweet free stuff. (I LOVE free stuff! Even if I'll never use it...there is just something about it being free that makes me happy!).

Me and Mac in front of the KC 135 that Mac will hopefully be flying in a few short years!

I was so glad to be able to spend this great day with Mac. It seems like every day we learn something new about each other and our love just keeps growing. Sorry, I guess I'm just feeling sentimental today. :) I have some more pictures to post from our stellar 24th of July trip to Manti, but I'll have to post those a little later. Love you all!
